AMERICAN CHAMBER PLAYERS

Chamber Music from the Library of Congress
Music for Clarinet, Viola and Piano
BRUCH: Eight Pieces, Op. 83 (1910)
MOZART: Trio in E Flat Major, K. 498 ("Kegelstatt")

Koch International.
Compact Disc: 3-7029-2; Cassette: 2-7029-4

These two works for the unusual combination of clarinet, viola, and piano are extremely listenable. In these pieces the composers were able to highlight the distinct qualities of each instrument while beautifully blending their sounds into a cohesive whole.

Joining Lambert Orkis on this recording are clarinetist Loren Kitt and violist Miles Hoffman.

These works were recorded in the historic Coolidge Auditorium of the Library of Congress, Washington, DC.

"…an exceptionally persuasive performance of Bruch's fine work."
Fanfare

"The performances are warm and romantic….The Mozart trio is playful and tender."
