This exquisite work was an unexpected and cherished Christmas gift from George Crumb. It beautifully depicts several aspects of the Christmas story and was inspired by the Giotto Nativity frescoes in the Arena Chapel in Padua, Italy. On this recording, it is presented with two other Crumb compositions performed by various other artists.
