Before Arleen Augér's untimely death, Lambert Orkis was fortunate enough to perform with her in concert as well as for this recording. He remembers those experiences with affection, as he thoroughly enjoyed making music with this talented artist.

The fortepiano used for this recording was a reproduction of a Graf piano, ca. 1824, and made in 1984 by R. J. Regier of Freeport, Maine.
